If you have the box setting on the ground, you must tilt it back or hang it to read the display. I invested in the I-pod case that installs on the side for endless hours of music.-battery charger cabinet holds CD's & other items for safe transport.-runs off battery for power tools or can charge them in 30mins.CONS:-Was not designed for really loud music.
It has beat out the competitors.(Milwaukee, dewalt) I had both. Hello Amazonian- I gave this Factory-Reconditioned Bosch PB10-CDR-RT Power Box Advanced Job Site Radio with CD Player and Remote Control a 5 star rating because I have had it for over a year now & Love it.
The sound is excellent for a job site or back yard event.-cord wraps up 2 keep cable tidy when not in use.-light weight.-square shape lets you stack it on a two wheeler (unlike the DW & Mil).-snap-down CD tray keeps discs from jamming if you tip it or crash into it with a skyjack.-on-board 4-way GFCI power 12-volt outlet perfect for charging cell phones and two-way radios & cleans up cable clutter.-12v output and mini-jack input lets me tie in an i-pod or other gear. Bosch hands down.Pros:-cage allows it to be chained down with ladders and job box or hung up.-cd player plays CD-R/RW discs as well as your regular CDs, and it has a 40-second anti-skip protection feature built-in to eliminate CD skipping.
The only 1 one the market that does. If you want booming lows and tight high-end, buy a Bose Wave Radio and hope you don't trash it.-no line out jack for sending to a transmitter or other device.-backlit display is not designed for viewing above horizontal.
***All in all a great investment for anyone needing some tunes anywhere with or without power.
The first one I received, the remote control did not work so they sent me another. When it didn't work, I sent the whole thing back and they sent me another a week later. Surprise, the remote control did not work either. Very poor Factory Reconditioning Quality Control going on at Bosch.
I own one of these radios. It is a piece of junk. I bought it because I work in a semi-noisy place hoping this radio would drown out the background noise, Much to my dismay when I turn this radio up to full volume I can still barely hear the speakers above the average noise in my place of employment. I could have bought a much cheaper transistor radio with the same effects of this very expensive radio.I hope someone else, with the same goals in mine as I had, will reconsider buying this costly radio.
I am a contractor for many years. Sound is good not great. Overall good product. So I finally broke down and purchased a job site radio. Happy so far. Radio works great no problems. I have purchased so many regular radios none of which could withstand the work conditions for too long. Have Ipod attachment which works real well.
I was worried at first about purchasing re-conditioned but very happy. Radio is pretty good - out of all the similar style radios this one has best sound. I hope this one lasts for a long time, only time can tell. Denis
I bought this unit based on the opinion of a friend of mine since he owned one. I will not buy another one. I pulled them out and low and behold they shorted out.
Sometimes only two stations. Also several of the cage screws have fallen out somewhere along the way ao I need to get some new ones. I was very displeased with the radio, I can only pick up a few stations.
After getting a price on the part I have decided to make a plate and install regular household GFCI outlets since they are way better than the cheap ones installed by Bosch. The sound is pretty good, not great, but good. The GFCI outlets quit working also.
In a nut shell.overpriced for what it is. Wish I had not purchased this one.
